     The visitor will find the Hotel Aivali in an ideal location, allowing travelers to go on day trips and see many beautiful attractions in Vatika. On the way to Kastania there are many colorful villages like Velanidia which is located on the slope of a mountain with many small walk ways. Ano Kastania, Lachi and Mesochori from where one can see the Castle of Vatika and the village of the Faraklo with a wonderful view of the Bay of Vatika.
   Apart from beautiful beaches and villages the area has many more tourists attractions that are, a must, to see. Paradisi is a small settlement built amphitheatrically on a slope with plain trees, walnut trees and fresh running water. Some of the buildings in this settlement are water mills. Paradisi has an old church , "Panagia", which is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Another site that is worth visiting is the Castle of Vatika. Built after the Byzantine era probably around the time of the Franks, to observe and control the bay of Vatika. The castle was recently restored and can be visited. Moreover, travelling further south-east in the direction of Agios Nikolaos towards Cape Maleas one come across, "Small Mount Athos", of the Peloponnese. There one can visit the churches of Agia Irini and Agios Georgios of In Maleo. When one visits this area, one can not pass  by and not see the Fossil Forest with palm trees, shells, root systems and tree trunks that have turned to stone over the past 2 million years.
     Another memorable day trip would be Pounta beach where there is an ancient Mycenae burial ground and the well-know ancient underwater city of Pavlopetri. Pavlopetri is a city that was built around the beginning of the Hellenic era through to the Byzantine age. The cave of Agios Andreas in Kastania is the most impressive cave with stalactites and stalagmites dense with columns and a variety of shapes, colors and forms. It is classified as the second best of its kind in Europe.
     One can also go on a day trip to the island of Kythera which connects by ship from the port of Neapolis. On Kythera, one can see impressive monuments from the middle ages and waterfalls. Furthermore, a day trip to the fortress of Monemvasia is a must see. It is a forty minute drive from Neapolis. Another beach to visit is Simos beach on the island of Elafonisos for tranquility and crystal clear waters. Its just a ten minute trip from Pounta to Simos beach. Finally, if one is a sea beach enthusiast ane must to go Magganos Beach, Neratziona Beach and Pounta Beach.
